The capitalistic economy that we have today allows for anyone to get rich.
- If You dont have money, you can borrow.
- If your credit score is bad you can find investors.
- If you don’t want to take a risk, you can pick up high income skills.
- You can start at the bottom and work your way up.
The people that don’t have an answer for why they arent rich is probably because of laziness, or lack of focus. (including myself)
Lack of opportunity as an excuse cannot be acknowledged because everything is on the internet. and everything is free to learn.
It is probably a mindset thing. We tend to adopt a victim mentality, self-limiting beliefs, and find reasons as to why we can not get ahead. Instead of finding reasons why we can.
This structure of capitalism is in some ways a blessing.
But the structure we have in America, gives way to greed, and injustice.
Traditionally, if you provided value to society, you would be rewarded. in the form of fame, recognition, or money. this is how people made a living.
- People would sew clothes, and sell it to other people
- People would grow food and feed people
- People would offer their services to other people.
- Communities would hire people to improve their communities. (building roads, infrastructure, architecture, irrigation, etc)
Ultimately a value had to be provided to be rewarded. If it harmed society/community, or produced a net netagive outcome, its people would collectively feel its effects, and therefore that good or service would not be rewarded.
With the emergence of large corporations at the time of industrialization, value could be provided on an unprecendented scale. Railroads could be built out all over the country to connect towns and cities to eachother on the other side of the country.
Oil could be drilled and transported anywhere.
Coal mining could provide energy for hundreds of thousands of people.
The concept of assembly lines and factories employed large numbers of people so they can provide for their families.
But with all this value produced, are there no consequences? Are these factories operated under the best working condiitons with their workers in mind?
Is there not pollution released into the atmostphere affecting residents and wildlife in the vicinity?
Would railroads going through a town or country not interfere with pre-existing infrastructure?
The people of those communities would surely feel its negative effects. But the rest of the world would benefit from the hardships endured by their members.
Can the towns and communities fight against these corporations for impeding on their liberties?
They can, Im sure they have tried. But large corporations have bottomless pockets, they can hire expensive lawyers, pay off who they need to, pay whatever court-ordered fine that need to be paid. And they can also settle, and pay the town whatever amount they desire.
The townspeople can stop crying and corporations can continue with making money uninterrupted.
The community members are able to wipe their tears with hundred dollar bills whilst their community dwindles and perishes. And they can just pack up their stuff and move.
Slowly and slowly small communities are shrunken to oblivion, the ones that remain pack up their stuff and move to big cities for better opportunity. Thus making those big cities even bigger and more unaffordable.
Corporate Personhood.
Under the 14th amendment, each person shall not be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law. Although not explicitly stated, this includes corporations as well. Corporations are considered legal people as a result of a supreme court decision in the case of Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad Co. (1868).
Corporations have the same rights as legal people.
But the only need or desire corporations have is to make money, whereas an actual person has real needs. It does not seem fair. I will not elaborate as to why. But…
isn’t it possible, with their bottomless pockets, they are able to influence decisions in their favor? They can apply pressure to the right people in power to lean in their favor. Or maybe not even pressure, maybe they can offer them (monetary) incentives instead.
Corporations have a lot more power, and more resources than a person.
Making money
If you want to make money, in this day, you have to sell your products and services to corporations, they call it b2b. This makes sense. They have the resources to reward you WELL for your product/service.
What do you offer them? What could they want? They do not have real needs, unlike an actual human person
They need to make money. Thats it. So you either promise to make them money, or save them money (thus making them more money).
For A real (human) person, you make life easier/better for them. or the promise of it, for them to buy what you are selling.
But they cannot offer you as much as a corporation can. So why would you cater to them? Wouldn’t you rather sell to a corporation?
This incentivizes, intelligent people graduating from prestiguous institutions to make corporations more money instead of providing real value to community/society/Humanity.
They would rather make them money, if not, work for them.
After all, when they graduate from their ivy league school, wouldn’t they look to tack on a prestiguous corporation to their resume? To add to their brilliant reputation and their percieved intelligence.
In the end, Western society is driven towards making large corporations larger, All while detaching members from their communities and eventually families.
And since everyone is detached from their communities, their collective senses are not as strong. So how can they take action against large corporations? When they are separated and divided.
(In Islam when one part of the ummah hurts the whole of it feels it.)
If a corporation is impeding on a communities liberties, what is stopping it, if there is no sense of community? or collective action?
Nothing.
It is free do to whatever it pleases, with nothing to stop it. And it is driven by greed and power. And it has no head. You can not kill it. another will take its place and carry out its agenda, It has no end. (too big to fail)
Corporations are so entrenched in politics. Government do not even care if their people suffer. They only care if corporations are not making money. They will pay billions of dollar to corporations so their stock prices to not fall. but If their people are suffering they will look the other way.
I have so much to say about this but i will end it here.
Thank you for reading. (I don’t know why you did.)
